He knows where Luke is. Which means he knows where Obi Wan is. Obi Wan is closer, maybe, but more importantly, he's also still on "active duty." He has a mission. Yoda is in hiding, far, far away. I'm just saying it makes common sense why he wants the plans to go to Obi Wan and he obviously knows where to find him.

1) I don't know that he knows Yoda is alive. If that's covered in any of the cartoons or books, so be it. But that's not something I'm aware of as someone who watches only the movies.

2) Given that Obi Wan is the only one that is still active and receptive to the movement it makes perfect sense.

3) It makes all the sense in the world to me that he would reach out to Obi Wan first BECAUSE he's watching Luke. And whether or not they want Leia and Luke to meet, they must suspect that Luke is important -- either in the force or as a bargaining chip/leverage/weapon against Vader.

Not necessarily. It's not like Yoda says "hey, I'll be on Dagobah if anything bad happens and you need me." Yoda could just have easily NOT told anyone where he'd be because from a Sith/Dark Side point of view, he's public enemy #1.
