Warner Bros. has apparently gone all in on J.K. Rowling‘s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise. It was announced during the upcoming film’s live event earlier today that the magical adventure debuting this November will be but the first in a total of five feature films.
If Rowling is writing all of them, I'm all in too. I know she wrote this first and has already completed a first draft of the second film screenplay. :heartbeat:

I keep thinking Asa Butterfield has the talent to be a big star if he finds the right vehicle. This may be it.

Then it's too bad he isn't in it.

My bad, I was thinking of Mrs. Peregine's Home for Peculiar Children.

What an odd film.

This was like the third or fourth film in a franchise in terms of tone.
No big punches or grab factor you'd expect in the first from a franchise. It's not bad. But just weirdly paced and depends too much on gags and vague connections to potter universe to get by.
Weren't even any remarakable performances to elevate it. It was just meh. Watch it but don't expect much.

You should ABSOLUTELY see this. 100% yes.

I don't recall anything anti-black or Muslim about the movie. But if your'e a Redmayne fan, you have to see it. If you're a Potter fan, you'll enjoy it. This is right up your alley, Ruddo.

Redmayne is GREAT in this.

It's especially worthwhile for fans of the books. The screenplay was written by Rowling and it shows. Her signature, her charm, her voice is all over this thing. I think it's probably the second strongest screenplay in the "Potter-verse" movies. And I'd absolutely put it in the top 5 (maybe top 3) of the Potter-verse films, too.

If you don't like Yates then I would lower your expectations. The writing is outstanding but it's still very much a Yates film. So, Len, you may not love it. But you should still see it because even if you don't think it's amazing, I'm guessing you'll find more than a few things to appreciate about the movie.

The book this is "based" on isn't really a novel. So you can skip it. I just mean if you're a fan of Rowling's writing in general, you'll like this more than some of the other Potter films. She really put a lot of her style into the script.

yeah i'm a big fan of the books...i need to watch the yates movies again though...i think the only one i've seen more than once was order of the phoenix (i was really disappointed in it as it was probably my favorite book)
