I really have no idea what tix for big acts go for these days. I've only seen twenty dollar club acts or big festival shows recently. they seem like a much better bargain.given2trade wrote:Yes, in fact, I think they went down in price or at worst kept them the same price from a year or two ago.BurtReynolds wrote:have tix been this expensive for awhile? people should actually bitch about real things. If pj got rid of priority seating for fan club members that would be a huge deal. Seniority gets you the best seats available as a favor to long standing members. It still does. But a fan club is not some feudal aristocracy whose primary purpose is maximizing the privelage of senior members over everyone else. If the ga seats were open to a general audience that would be much lamer. But it just for 10c members.
You can find a way to defend everything Pearl Jam and 10 Club though. Sometimes you'll take the antagonistic side only to then brush it off to "see the larger picture". I chalk to up to your "co-ownership" of Pearl Jam via being a mod here. You feel them.
2 shitty albums
10 Club has been an abomination of a fan club
Barely toured
Been sponsored by Target and Oracle amongst others; the same band that had audacity to put out posters with the phrase "sponsored by no one" when they were worth 1/100th the amount of money they are worth now.
Basically, the band has half assed it for almost a decade. There is very little to defend. In the pro/con list, the cons far outweigh the pros, which basically consist of everything they did from 1991-2003.

As I said in some other thread brah, you're in desperate need of a new schtick. This shit is myopic beyond repair. It's so tired to say this but here goes - if you are filled with this much vitriol for them it's really time to move on. Broken record and all that. WE GET IT. PEARL JAM DEFILED YOUR MOTHER. LOCK PEARL JAM UP IN TARGET PRISON.given2trade wrote:Stip, in the last 6-10 years Pearl Jam is:stip wrote:Most of the things people bitch about here aren't worth bitching about, or get blown out of proportion due to the group think mentality you can get on a message board. How has this worked at the few shows that they've played more recently with a GA pit?

This. They've been trending towards 100 bucks a pop and was pleasantly surprised with the prices this time around.given2trade wrote:

This. On their own, each individual thing we bitch about isn't that huge a deal. It's a cumulative effect that sucks.given2trade wrote:Stip, in the last 6-10 years Pearl Jam is:stip wrote:Most of the things people bitch about here aren't worth bitching about, or get blown out of proportion due to the group think mentality you can get on a message board. There may be some bands that tour more, but there can't be very many bands that tour or record prolifically 20+ years after the start of their career. Do I wish I had more Pearl Jam music? Sure. Am I surprised that it doesn't come as often? No.stip wrote:Barely toured
yeah, I wish they toured more. I wish they recorded more too. They're not nearly as prolific as I'd like them to be.

Yeah, I think this is really kinda stupid (the critique). I've railed about this a million times. When you start to unpack it this critique is pretty superficial, unless you are a teenage punk rocker in love with meaningless notions of authenticity.
Now they just spending hours agonizing over how to game a system that is not at all transparent and then have to sit and wait a week to know if they were lucky enough to get "randomly" selected.given2trade wrote: ..... making fans spend hours trying to get tickets to a concert.
That's my hope, but we really won't know till after this tour. If the put all of us on the floor behind GA with good side seats available then we may take our chances with the public sale on the next tourlukin321(2) wrote:So is it fair to assume that 10c will consider the "wings" on the side of the pit as "better" than the back half of the floor?
