I think PSU, tOSU, and Michigan all had good arguments to get in. Unfortunately, there was no good way to avoid someone in the Big Ten getting screwed, and at least the committee did the right thing in putting UW in over a 2nd Big Ten team. Just goes to show you we need more than 4 teams in the playoff.

The thing is, the system we have is designed to funnel money, not really to crown a champion. It's not a playoff system. It's a pretty stupid system really because it's still mostly based on opinion and speculation rather than having it play out on a field.

That said, it's a fine group of 4 from a purely entertaining standpoint. The champion matters less overall than simply entertaining us really.

I'd rather have them seed Ohio State 4th because they couldn't even win their own division also it guarantees an Meyer vs Saban matchup and those guys usually do a good job with a long time to prepare.

Clemson vs Washington to me is a vastly better Fiesta Bowl matchup, then we would have 2 great offenses in one vs 2 great defenses in another.

I'm pulling in the end probably for a rematch of last year because last years NCG was one of the best college football games I've ever watched but it is what it is.

Not a fan of expansion really at this point because any expansion devalues the regular season. We do not want college basketball. People act like they love that one, College Basketball sucks, nothing matters except for 3 weekends in March, and we pretend that 2 of them are interesting because of 2 or 3 upsets a year.

Mostly, I want good matchups. I would have just tweaked this one a bit, I'm disappointed they didn't penalize Ohio State for not playing for a championship. They should have been the 4 if you put them in.

There's no logic in this system so you can't really try to use reason. It's about money. That's it. Amateurism is a farce.

People act like they love that one, College Basketball sucks, nothing matters except for 3 weekends in March, and we pretend that 2 of them are interesting because of 2 or 3 upsets a year.

I don't agree with this at all. College football is powerful enough as a social event that people are still going to pack stadiums for regular season games, especially against meaningful opponents. The NFL lets 12 teams in and the regular season games factor in immensely to who's in and what seed they get. I don't see why CFB can't craft the same.

They have a playoff model on the lower levels already that works, this model works for the people in charge of the revenue. My thing is, if you have 6 teams this year, the Ohio State vs Penn State game still doesn't matter (depending on how much a conference title matters, this season I guess not at all but they both get in) The Ohio State Michigan game doesn't matter because they potentially both get in. Where does it end? If you go 8... 5 conference title winners and 3 at large, the 9th team cries about it. This year it would be the 5, plus Ohio State, Michigan and probably Oklahoma, well, we're going to see all those teams in bowls anyway, it's just that the selected 4 are playing for the ugliest trophy in sports outside of NASCAR (which isn't)

Good teams losing a game they can't afford to lose happens all the time in good conferences, the team playing best at the end doesn't always get in, see 2008. Best game USC vs Georgia........ because of the politics, we get Georgia vs Hawaii in the sugar bowl in one of the most useless beatdowns of all time, and Jim Delaney ruined another good matchup so a tomato can Illinois could get slaughtered by USC.... all because of bowl associations and Jim Fucking Delaney who needs to go away forever..

Part of the thrill of college football is seeing Oklahoma go down early, or Ohio State get put out in October, or Georgia lose to Tennessee or.... USC get put out by Washington or Utah....

If you're just going to go to a tournament at the end, some of the season drama is diminished like it was this year. Pitt beat 2 conference champs, it didn't really mean anything. Ohio State, couldn't even get out of their division... didn't matter.

Whatever they decide to do is going to suck.


This year, same thing, because of bowl associations.... we get Auburn, who lost to GEORGIA of all terrible schools this year in the Sugar bowl. Really? Auburn.. you're going to send AUBURN to the Sugar Bowl? They lost to essentially every semi decent opponent and Georgia who suck complete ass. Clemson, TAM, Georgia and Alabama and they're in one of the big ones.

Probably not. Especially if said first round matchups were around Christmas or a few days prior.

i don't know, maybe...even still, you lose a lot of continuity and comfortableness especially for a true freshman qb on this stage
