Also, it may seem silly to make the ASG mean something but MLB has the best all star game of the major sports in America by far. The reason for that is because there are enough players/managers involved in the game that do actually care about winning it. Before interleague play it was for league pride reasons, but since that's not really a thing anymore we might need to put something on the line to keep it interesting.

I get all you're saying about it, but I'd not want to change things too much and then realized we fucked up a good thing.

Especially with the increase in the amount of interleave play now, the better record gets home field advantage solution that Biff mentioned seems like a good way to go.

Agreed on a lot of this. The MLB ASG is the only ASG that means ANYTHING, and I dont want that to change, I love the ASG.

it's the farce of trying to sell the asg on people by convincing them that "this time it means something" and attaching home-field advantage to it. in the end, it was still an insignificant exhibition game that lasts 2 hours too long.

They marketed the "this time it counts" stuff for like 2 years. Don't act like that's been shoved down our throats for a decade. Like I said, they weren't using anything to decide it before, so what was the problem?

Yeah, this is definitely better. I was just kind of annoyed by the "this nightmare has finally ended" stuff I was seeing everywhere.

So, Beltran signing the one yr deal with Houston makes things really interesting. I kind of thought that Houston would be the stupid team this year and go crazy on EE.

The Red Sox actually classify not raising ticket prices as a ticket price decrease.

So does Pearl Jam hate the Red Sox now because the Haves continue to have more... yet they take more... and Baseball made it even worse for small er budget teams under the new labor agreement?

If the Red Sox hadn't built a strong farm system, which every small market club is capable of doing, they can't make this trade.

Good deal for both sides.

I think ChiSox circle back with the Nats and offer Quintana and Robertson. I'm sure there is a framework of a deal already in place.
