It's just disheartening when I see one record out of a hundred in a bin that's something I want, and it's twice as much as it would be at a dozen online retailers. I think we're going to see the vinyl "boom" die down as prices creep up.
Oh I totally get what you're saying. Although for me, finding one record out of hundreds is kind of the thrill for me. Sure, I can get anything I want online at a reasonable price, but that's the amazon effect, yeah? You want it, you got it. Finding it in the wild, that's a thrill for me that just can't be replicated. Even if I just find one record after going to several shops.
And yeah, there are a lot of used records I see that I can often find online for a lot cheaper. But the majority I've found around here seem to be pretty much inline with most of discogs. Sometimes cheaper, sometimes more expensive. Once you take shipping into consideration, a lot of prices are within a few bucks of each other. BUT, sometimes, there are definitely records out there that are kind of price gauged and MUCH MUCH cheaper online, and that's when I have no problem buying something through Discogs.
