Dude, I totally get it. I mean, I don't, because I didn't serve. But you know what I mean. I really try to empathize and understand as much as I can. Totally makes sense, my friend.E.H. Re: The Cinematic Motion Picture News Thread
I just hope it's a competent film. So far, Nolan has been overwhelmingly good. Interstellar wasn't everything I wanted it to be, but otherwise, the guy is kinda nailing it. The trailer for this looks beautiful and heartbreaking. Hopefully, it's honest and deserving of the story they're telling.E.H. Re: The Cinematic Motion Picture News Thread
I think I agree. But I'd put Inception in the plot and character category. The VFX are fantastic and a huge part of both the plot and the character development, but the movie relies on those latter things far more than just effects.tragabigzanda wrote:I think Nolan is at his best when he's relying on plot and character (Memento, TDK) than when he's ramping up the effects (Inception, TDKR). I think this one is gonna be terrific.

Re: The Cinematic Motion Picture News Thread
Is that clever marketing for a new sequel or should that post have been in the random pictures or random movie related thoughts thread?

That's not even a thought. That's just a photo you found. I reckon the best thread for that image was either the Random Picture Thread or the Christmas Movies thread.

I always read "reckon" with a twang, because I reckon only cowboys and hillbillies actually say that word, so it was pretty funny to read this post and imagine you saying it.theplatypus wrote:That's not even a thought. British people say reckon all the time. Surprised me as I too thought it was a southern thang.
