Watched the 3D version of this last night with the wife and kids. The 3D transfer in places is outstanding - one shot of a star destroyer that felt like you could just reach out and touch from the other side of the room. Had my BB8 following along with the movie too - chirping away at certain scenes.

Had been long enough since I'd last watched this that it was a fun watch again

To apologise to LV apparently the commentary is on both the 2D and 3D discs. Still. Can't justify it though.

That shot of the finaliser was really the only shot that popped in the cinema, Dave. Good to hear they made a great transfer though.

I'm gonna keep on calling it a Star Destroyer

I really like this movie. i do.

But i just can't get over how dumb it was to have a death star like thing and have a rogue squadron go in on foot to blow up the protective field so that an aerial assault can blow it up. Again.

its eye rolling. Im glad they dont spend a huge chunk of film time on it though.

I like that the movie is fun and shiny, but really there are a lot of things not quite right about it. It's a copy of A New Hope in more ways than one, and lacks originality. There are also several things that seem inconsistent (let's hope after ep 8 and 9 it makes more sense).

As far as the poll that started this thread, this movie is worse than the prequel movie Episode 3.

Nevertheless, I saw it twice in the cinema last year (2d and 3d with different friends) and will probably see it on blu-ray in the next few days. I'm a sucker for Star Wars.

It's a brilliant wonderful movie.
I'm not crazy about the middle act. Maz's castle into the trench run II. But it was the perfect Star Wars film we needed to restart it. And boy did it.

Certainly very enjoyable. About 25 minutes in so far. I think the first village looks fake. Other than that the start of the movie is nearly flawless. Great part with BB-8 and Rey. Poe and Finn are breaking out now. Feels a bit easy, but their chemistry is good.

Love the part when Finn meets Rey and BB-8, both the humour and the action. One of the highlights in the movie.

You should watch the extras. The village is t fake. Nothing on that scale was in this film.
