The part where they meet Han and Chewbacca is painfully bad. Should have been great, but meeting them at all feels so random, and then they start with the aliens chasing Han. Couldn't possibly have been worse.

You're totally entitled to your totally wrong opinion.
Han and Chewie were perfect. Intro to them was perfect.

Once I get over their (imo) bad introduction, it gets a lot better. When he talks about how the Jedi were real, and they travel to see Maz. The simultaneous scenes with Kylo Ren are great too. A bit on the fence about Snoke though.

The attack by the new death star was devastating. Should have said something more about which worlds were destroyed. The battle at Maz is great.

Strange that Rey knew how to tell the guard what to do by using the force.
Building up to the big battle now.

The Han scene is iconic. Makes me wonder what will happen to Kylo in the future.

I know people hate the Kylo vs Rey sabre fight, but I like it. Perhaps Kylo should have been more powerful, but he was bleeding quite heavily.
Edit: ok, maybe she is a little bit too much like wonder woman towards the end of it. No training with the force at all.

Death star destroyed. Seemed easier than normal.

Not sure what you mean, but it was a lot harder for Luke in the original trilogy. Probably even for Anakin (virgin birth created by the force) Skywalker.dimejinky99 wrote:Anders wrote:I know people hate the Kylo vs Rey sabre fight, but I like it. Flawed but entertaining. They went with a fairly predictable and well known story. Good characters and actors. Look forward to episode 8. It might even help lift TFA up a level.
Controversial perhaps, but I like both Revenge Of The Sith and Rogue One better.

Kylo is still a noob and he wasn't trying to kill Rey, he was holding back, not realizing the force was so strong with her.

You are 100% welcome into Star Wars.
You really need to do some reading though.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
Kylo is no noob. He is 29 in TFA. He was trained by Luke for years, but eventually destroyed the Jedi temple Luke had built, slaughtering the other Jedi there. He was then trained by Snoke.Leatherhead wrote:Kylo is still a noob and he wasn't trying to kill Rey, he was holding back, not realizing the force was so strong with her.

Actually I've been a Star Wars fan for 30 years. I also read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi. What do you suggest I read?

I've read some ideas as to why Kylo hit his chest prior to the fight with Rey. I always thought that was so random of him to do.
do you guys buy into any of these?
