That's my 13yo's favorite, too... What a trip!
I was fortunate enough to see them do that one live a few times. Unbelievable!
yeah I'd like to hear it live. It's kind of everything I like about Tool crammed into one 11 minute song. The lyrics are so great.
*Ticks and Leeches...
for me, anyway. Never heard that one live :-/

Lateralus
Ænima
10k Days
Undertow
Opiate*
*I think I like most of the songs on Opiate more than a bunch of tracks on Undertow, but it's hard to rate an EP over an LP.

Would give most board memebers' lives if 10k Days was pressed and Ænima was repressed on vinyl. Maybe not lenny.

I could easily switch 10KDays and Undertow on your list most (but not all) days.
I'd throw Salival in above them both, though.
Oh, I don't know if you have the Lateralus double gatefold vinyl, it it's pretty special!

If I was on a Tool message board I would totally use "10KDays" as my handle.

I think I like 10,000 Days more than Ænima. I haven't listened to Tool in quite some time.

Everything doesnt need to be SOOO complex and over 6 mins long. Maybe go back to writing WITH MJK. Different tunings. i would love to hear a song fully written by justin. It would prob jump right out to our ears because it would sound different. Every song doesnt need some fucking weird ass time signiture, write a straight up 4/4 3.5 minute rock song. Stop being so mysterious in a day and age where it doesnt work anymore.
So, in effect, be a totally different band?
What junk.

Aenema is eons beyond any of their other albums. They're almost a one-album wonder for me.

There are some really good songs on Opiate and Undertow. Some great ones on Lateralus. But in general, I think pre-Aenema material is just a warm up for Aenema, and post-Aenema material leans too much on the wanky prog side for my tastes.

Rush and King Crimson are really the only other wanky prog bands I've halfway enjoyed.
I admit that I put Tool's music on a pedestal. Many life changing experiences occurred In context of the band, too... which is why I put PJ's music on a very similar pedestal.
