I'd suggest:

a) something other than Pearl Jam (best bands of all time, different artist's catalog, etc.)
b) Pearl Jam songs, but voting according to some criteria other than "overall best"
c) all albums by Seattle's "big 4," to determine once and for all who the grungiest of the grungers is

I vote for the most generic march madness possible.

I love these ideas. But only as tournament ideas once the regular Pearl Jam MM is over.

I like the live idea but someone who isn't me would need to run it. I'm not interested in spearheading a massive tournament that requires youtube links for each round.

Yeah, the administrative flaw in my suggestion was always going to be a hurdle. One possible way around it is to have a stickied thread where you post all the links (I'd suggest grouped by album again). Cut and paste each RM Live Experts nominations for their album into that stickied post. Means it's relatively little work, done only once, upfront.

Put the same link to the aggregated list post at the top of each head-to-head contest and leave people to work it out.

Maybe it would be easier to do a live March madness once this project is completed http://forums.theskyiscrape.com/viewtop ... =15&t=8556

How about pitting songs against each other by songwriter? Who gets the most into the elite 8? Ament vs. Gossard vs. full band, etc. I recognize Ed is responsible for most lyrics, but I've always liked Jeff's songs best. At least I think I do. Let's see who the songwriting Mvp is.

Or not.

Honestly, I wouldn't listen to them anyway and I'd just vote based on the studio versions of the songs.

Sorry, K. As much as I love this band. I just have zero desire to plow through a billion different live versions of songs. Especially when I prefer the vast majority of them as studio tracks. The whole thing just sorta bores me. But please by all means, have at it. So many others would LOVE to participate. And good on them.
