I think I liked the Hedge Knight better, but I should go through and read them again.

I'm just going to use this stupid double post and say that I'm also reading a lot of graphic novels right now. Read the Django Unchained one the other day and it was great. I like the note at the beginning where Quentin said that it's the full, actual shooting script so there's stuff in it that didn't make the final cut of the film.

Yeah I'm a dozen or so chapters into A Clash of Kings right now. Hopefully by the time I get through ADWD again the new one will be out.

I'm not a big fan of them. I listened to a bit of Game of Thrones in audiobook form and I find it too easy to get distracted.

yeah that's exactly why i've avoided them...even when reading a book my mind can wander so i know audiobooks would be even more difficult to concentrate on

I listen to audiobooks while I'm running or riding my bike so it's fairly easy to stay on task.

There's been a book or two that I've listened to where I'm pretty sure I'd hate the book if I were reading it. For example: Sleeping Giants. The book is told from the point of view of several different people and the audiobook has different narrators for each person. It was a really great listen.

I was re-reading "The Call of Cthulhu" today and it's fun how it all takes place right where I lived in Providence for 5 years.

Finished Animal Farm last week. My son 'enjoyed' the book and hated the pigs. It was fun talking to him about it, how he felt and looking at current events.

Looking at Goodreads:
Participants 3,037,653
Books Pledged 141,990,727
Books Finished 38,460,090
Avg. Books Pledged 46
Challenges Completed 20,218
Time Left 4 days, 14 hours
Over 3 million participants and only 20,218 people completed their challenge? Holy crap.

Only 27% of the books pledged were read. That's sad. I did my part: pledged to read 50 and I'm sitting at 141. Sure a lot of them were from reading to my son but it's stuff like the Narnia books, the Prydain series, and The Phantom Tollbooth.

I upped my challenge to 145 on Friday, let's see if I can make it. I've got two in the chamber that are close (The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead and Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs), one that's not but might be (S. by J.J. Abrams), and one that I just started because I was getting sick of S. (Infomocracy by Malka Ann Older). We'll see.

I have no idea what you're talking about. why you gotta make me look bad?

I'm reviewing "My 2016 in books" I have 34,410 pages read. my most popular book is Animal Farm (got it right that time!) with 2,413,886 other readers and my least popular book is Independence Day: The Official Comic Book Adaptation with...two.
