I think it had a great chance of doing TFA numbers before she passed. I'm not sure Carrie's death will have a larger impact beyond what it was already going to do.

There'll Market it just the same but they'll be careful to leave her out of that if they have any sense. It'll do bigger numbers than FA I reckon. Not cos of Carrie though.

I meant more that there was a buzz around TDK because of his death that had a lot of people who wouldn't go to a Batman movie interested. Granted Star Wars is a little different, but there are people who are just that - for lack of a better word - morbid.

Marvel might come close to Star Wars in terms of popularity and box office returns.

DC? Nowhere near it not in this lifetime or the next. Nothing they have will do anything like Star Wars business globally.

There probably will be that, but I don't think it will affect box office in any real way. The vast majority of her fanbase love her because of Star Wars and they're already going to see the movie.

Even if they strike him down, he'll become more powerful than we could possibly imagine.

Well again and not to be crass but how will carries Death affect the story?

There were pick ups planned for early 2017 apparently. I wonder.

I can't see him dying in 9. It's almost gotta be 8

I dont know. Im hoping episode 9. We got to see Luke come into being jedi by the end of ROTJ and that was a wonderful story. But now, with the technological advancements, I want to see Luke be a fucking badass jedi for a bit here. Much like what they were able to do with Vader in Rogue 1. I want to see Luke be the best Jedi the universe has seen. He can go out at the end of 9!

I dont know. The powers that be have stated the new saga is about advancing new characters. Luke will die to help advance their story. no question.

Also I don't think it'll be Luke facing off against Snoke. Think it will be rey.

That assumes Snoke is the ultimate bad guy. I wonder if Kylo Ren doesn't kill Snoke.

This is one of those "hey dime, you look into this stuff WAY more than any of us, Please put things in spoilers" moments.
