Oh totally. I think is simultaneously what I like and dislike so much about them. I'm very conflicted about this band.LoathedVermin72 wrote:The music is deceptively complex. I find myself often coming back because of how unexpected and intricate the song structures and movements are.

Can't Buy a Thrill has this element, but is much more tuneful and accessible, which is why you should go there next. It's so great.durdencommatyler wrote:Oh totally. Me and my buddy have this pact where if they are in the area we are 100% going.. skipped out on too many random shows
SD are surprisingly really popular around here, a lot of my friends are fans.. it's completely normal to go out for a night and hear a bunch of Dan on the juke

I dig what I know of the dan, but I'm not well versed on their catalog.
Dirty Work and My Old School are pretty great.

I'm gonna say the title track, Sign In Stranger, and Haitian Divorce are the greatest highlights.

I can't get this song out of my head. I've listened to it dozens of times the last 3 days. I'm gonna work it up.wease wrote:Just listened to Countdown to Ecstasy on the way home. New favorite song: King of the World. Fucking A. I listened to it at least 10 times.

The back half of Katy Lied is fucking my brain. Filled with stunning flourishes of melody and instrumentation. "Your Gold Teeth II" knocks me out.
"Everyone's Gone to the Movies"...it's about a pedophile showing porno movies to kids, yeah?

He's not necessarily a pedo but yeah pretty much. That song and Doctor Wu are my favorites on that album. Doctor Wu is special to me.LoathedVermin72 wrote:The back half of Katy Lied is fucking my brain. Filled with stunning flourishes of melody and instrumentation. "Your Gold Teeth II" knocks me out.
