Every single duel In the prequels is awful. Not one good one.
Over choreographed and somehow lacking any tension whatsoever.
Episode 1's is good. Other than that, you're right.
Yeah, Maul v Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon is fucking epic. That thing is amazing.
I also don't really have an issue with Vader v Obi-Wan in ANH. It's slow but I kinda like it. They make it work. Watching it again the other night it was cool to see how deliberate each guy was and how focused. But there was a definite sense of Vader toying with him a bit. That might be a result of having just seen R1, though. Not sure.

re: prequel duels... I think they all pretty much suck as well, but I actually don't mind the first Dooku / Anakin duel. When the power chord gets cut and you just really see the glow of the lightsaber and their faces. I thought was was alright, and better then Sonic the Hedgehog flipping and hopping all over the place.

Was thinking about this. I don't think he's toying with him. I think he's probably quite nervous. He doesn't know how powerful Obi Wan has become. And last time they met and the outcome of that would play hard in his head too.
You know what there hasn't been a lot of since the prequels? All that fruity leaping and twirling. In Star Wars canon, can we assume it just fell out of style after the rise of the Empire?

I'd love to assume that but it's all over Rebels. Well... that's not fair. It's toned down a bit. But some of it is still there.
