My favorite movie-going experience of the year:

A screening of some cinema verite Kennedy docs and a panel featuring D.A. Pennebaker. Walked away with a free Blu-ray and tote bag, too

They made a movie from that POS?dimejinky99 wrote:The girl with all the gifts.
Read the book and it was brilliant.
Halfway though the film and its suspense/scary thrill ride.
Well worth looking up.
Oh, well, with that in mind I guess I can see how the book was structured the way it was. The characterizations screamed, "I can't write effective dialogue or exposition so I'm going to use tropes out the ass."The book and film were written in tandem, with Carey also writing the screenplay, which was placed on the 2014 Brit List, a film-industry-compiled list of the best unproduced screenplays in British film.
I didn't like the book, no.
Watched Sing yesterday. There were some moments I liked, but there were also a lot of moments where I was wondering why the movie was so long.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Watching Richard II right now and it's brilliant. I've not seen Shakespeare performed and so maybe a play would be better suited but this is pretty good thus far. It's easy (ish) to follow though at times I have to play the words/sentences over in my head for the 'fancy' definitions and wordplay.
Can't wait to follow through with the other six 'episodes'/plays.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The Weird Al song? Yeah, it's okay. It's a pretty decent style parody for sure. What movie is it in though?LoathedVermin72 wrote:Dog Eat Dog is insane.
