What works really well:

We're told that. But we don't technically KNOW that, I suppose. Still, yeah, I'm almost 100% sure that won't turn out to be the case. Mostly because of what I posted earlier.

Also, I'm not nearly as hardcore of a fan as some of you guys, and pop into the Star Wars threads periodically. Is it generally accepted that the student who turned against Luke (mentioned by Han) is Kylo Ren?

Nobody knows. It would make sense if it actually was Snoke that turned against Luke and took his class with him.

Hmm. Just reading now that Snoke is much younger than I thought he was. My impression was of an ancient being, but I'm getting set straight on that now over on wookiepedia.

He is old enough to have been around to see the empire rise and fall. An seems to have some connection to Vader and the emperor.

This. And Pablo Hidalgo confirmed he's not a Sith. So we also know that about him. Neither Snoke nor Ren are Sith. So whatever possible connection to Vader/Palpatine there may be, it isn't that.

How is a Sith different from a Dark Jedi?

I think R2 is the "best" (and by that I mean most universal and successful) droid in the universe so far. Chopper is making up some big ground here, though. Rebels is starting to embrace his personality more as the series goes on. The think I've always loved about R2 is that somehow I always know what he's saying/thinking/doing even without speech. He someone has body language expressions and vocal tones and ques that keep me right on the same page. Chopper wasn't as successful in that regard until half way through S2. Now, he's starting to make much more sense to me and not just be the comic relief droid. Which is awesome. I mean, Chopper has always been awesome, but now he's fleshing out more and he's much more interesting to me.

How is a Sith different from a Dark Jedi?

Oh boy. That's a question with no short answer. And, unfortunately, because the canon is changing, a lot of what we know isn't technically canon anymore, though much of it hasn't been specifically discounted. The basic answer is that the term Dark Jedi was a collective and vague name of dark side practitioners (be they fallen or rogue Jedi) that used Force powers and a light saber, but were not always members of a certain organization; whereas the term Sith refers to a definite heritage or ideology (and race in some cases).

I just started reading about Darth Sidious and the Sith, but tuned out once it started talking about midichlorians.

Some of the damage control done regarding midichlorians helped. It's not an outwardly stupid idea, though Lucas did try to make it one in TPM.

I don't know who that is. But if she came after Vader, then yes. I think Vader is the last of the Sith as far as we know.
