Re: 2016 NFL Season
So, who you guys got this weekend?
I fully expect Seattle to take care of Detroit (unfortunately). I'll be cheering for the Lions, but I just don't think there's a way out for them.
Did Miami beat Pittsburgh earlier this season? I think they did. But that was in Miami, I believe. Big Ben at home is a beast. This could be a closer game than some thing but I still think Pittsburgh pulls off the win. Again, I'll hope I'm wrong. Go Dolphins!
Houston should take care of the Raiders. Houston's defense is better and they're going up against a rookie who hasn't seen much action. And they're at home. And Lamar Miller should be healthy. And the Fade struggle against the run. This could come down to which QB has the worst day. But I expect Brock can afford to manage the game and limit his risks better than Cook. Though, Cook may have more weapons. Should be a close game, if not a fun, high scoring affair. I'll take Houston.
Giants at Packers is the really interesting one for me. I could see this going either way. And I might even go so far as to say the winner of this game makes it to the Super Bowl. I really want the Packers to win. Because I swear to God if we get yet ANOTHER Pats v Giants Super Bowl I'm gonna vomit. I'd prefer to just have them eliminated now. Rogers has been on fire lately. Jordy Nelson is a monster who has had a phenomenal bounce back season. I think I'll give the Pack the edge with the home field. But this really could go either way.
So...
AFC
Houston
Steelers
NFC
Packers
Seahawks
It's rare that all home teams win in the playoffs. So, I'm wrong about at least one of these. I hope it's Miami and/or New York.

If Scott Pioli didn't have Matt Ryan he'd offer MORE for Garoppalo.E.H. Ruddock wrote:I could save this for the upcoming 2017 thread, but Patriots asking a 1st and 4th rounder for Garoppalo

I'm rooting for a 2-0 Texans win, with the safety coming from Jadeveon Clowney sacking Cook. The other games I'm fairly indifferent about.durdencommatyler wrote:So, who you guys got this weekend?

i'll accept the patriots winning 20 super bowls in a row and alabama being number 1 for years but i'll never accept the raiders doing well..lennytheweedwhacker wrote:you need to be more acceptingdoug rr wrote:lennytheweedwhacker wrote:they're a humble organization

And that's as it should be. Every year. They've already made it further than that shit-stain franchise deserves. I hope Houston beats them by 86 points and all of their players end up on IR.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:eh, it's not like they have much of a shot at all to win the whole thing this yeardoug rr wrote:i'll accept the patriots winning 20 super bowls in a row and alabama being number 1 for years but i'll never accept the raiders doing well..lennytheweedwhacker wrote:you need to be more acceptingdoug rr wrote:lennytheweedwhacker wrote:they're a humble organization

You obviously don't understand rivalries in general and the awfulness of the Raiders in particular. You have zero authority in this discussion and should probably let it go and walk away from it until you educate yourself properly.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:that's completely irrational and i think you should seek helpdurdencommatyler wrote:And that's as it should be. i'm an alabama fan, of course i understand rivalries...and yes there are alabama fans that speak in the same extremes as you did in the above post, but that doesn't make them right (or sane)durdencommatyler wrote:You obviously don't understand rivalries in general and the awfulness of the Raiders in particular.
