If this was an honest and sober assessment from someone with an actual assessment on the intelligence community's workings, I'd agree. As the byproduct of a bloviating president-elect with the temperament of a child, I'm less convinced. It is notable, as the article says, that he really only disagrees with the IC on one issue; Russia. And that's because he doesn't like what they're saying. We're seeing the presidential equivalent of someone sticking their fingers in their ears and screaming, "I'm not listening."

I'm also skeptical anything will come to pass, anyway. A political personality like Trump, who hasn't really met an authoritarian impulse he's uncomfortable with, I bet will soon find the reach of the intelligence community fits him like a glove.

One thing I will say about Trump so far: Unlike previous presidents, he seems to be restricting power at the same time as he's expanding in other areas; usually it's all expansion and no contraction.

Sure Trump is a self serving, irrational moron, but anything that hinders our ability to nation build, spy on citizens and generally meddle in shit the American government has no business meddling in is a good thing. Plus, the last thing I want is a strong intelligence community under Trump. Let him fuck it up. He's not going anywhere, folks. It can be rebuilt later.

Trump's Mr Magoo-like stumbling into doing good on occasion is ok by me. From shitting on Lockheed Martin and the Republican Reps to talking to the president of Taiwan, I love this delightful idiot!
