October countdown would make more sense for Oz/European tour announcement than the album. Can they really leave it that long between single and album release?
How long was the gap between Fixer and Backspacer? Not that long, surely?
Tour announcements sometimes happen towards the end of the year I think?

Blenheim Augustine wrote:Like the artwork today. Has a No Country for Old Men feel to it.

"Table manners play an important part in making a favorable impression. They are visible signals of the state of our manners and therefore are essential to professional success. The point of etiquette rules is to make you feel comfortable - not uncomfortable."

"Modern (North American) etiquette provides the smallest numbers and types of utensils necessary for dining. Only utensils which are to be used for the planned meal should be set. Even if needed, hosts should not have more than three utensils on either side of the plate before a meal. If extra utensils are needed, they may be brought to the table along with later courses."

"The meal begins when the host or hostess unfolds his or her napkin. This is your signal to do the same. Place your napkin on your lap, completely unfolded if it is a small luncheon napkin or in half, lengthwise, if it is a large dinner napkin. Do not shake it open."

"Guests should do their best to mingle and make light conversation with everyone. Do not talk excessively loud. Give others equal opportunities for conversation. Talk about cheerful, pleasant things at the table."
Quotes from where? There's some interesting symbolism in that.

While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

Yeah I hear ya.
I'm thinking some station overseas is going to spin this on an am show and we will also have mym before the countdown officially ends but that is yet to be seen
I hope so. I have a pretty good feeling about it.
But...if it didn't leak and they ran a good 2-3 month promo push would you enjoy it or get burnt out. I don't know myself

I'd love if we got an epk or something tomorrow but I don't want to bust my nut so soon. Likely we don't do this again for many years
I'm not sure if we're disagreeing. My point being that I'm not waiting till October if I can possibly help it.
No disagreement. Just wondering out loud if I'd get burnt out on a successful 3 month promo push.

That target/backspacer video brings me back

Any chance they play the thing? Unless I've misscalculated this show should start in about 45 minutes.

I've been listening for the last 30 minutes and they said they aren't playing it until this afternoon but the DJ did say the single is from the "Tides Project" coming out in a few months...

I wonder if this was an accidental slip, or he just based it on the "leaked" track listing.

Isn't tides just a bullshit name someone here made up?

So either I missed something or the media still haven't been told the actual name and are still just getting shit from the internet.

'Tides' doesn't fit any of the themes thus far, by the looks of it. Tides / waves doesn't say suburbia and fundamentalism and guns and Republicanism to me. I'm still intrigued by the Citizen idea.

Tides may be a "working" title. If so, the real title could be anything, I'm hoping we find out in about 8 hours.

There are a few secondary definitions for tides you can tie this together with. The idea that there are regular cycles to events, a moment of possibility (the tides are turning), drifting along at the mercy of something else, an unstoppable force.

So you have all these interesting secondary meanings, plus Eddie finally gets to work waves into a title.
