But I'd pay $5 to see that.

Would you pay $5 to see a 30 minute extended version of Stupid Mop?

Re: Post Random Pearl Jam-Related Thoughts You Have
This is a strange philosophical dilemma. We already know -- assuming we are to take as objective fact that we would all agree on this -- that this version of "Even Flow" is the best version they've ever played, so theoretically whoever is drumming would be the person expected to deliver the superior performance. Ergo, your attempt to anticipate the value of the performance by requiring certain personnel is beside the point -- whoever the drummer is in the objectively determined "best versions ever" is the one you want by default.LetMeSleep wrote:If Dave A was drumming, YES. Anyone else, no thanks.bodysnatcher wrote:Would you go to a Pearl Jam concert where they only song they played was Even Flow, but it was the best version they ever played? That said, I would not pay the full cost of a ticket to hear any one-song Pearl Jam show, with the possible exception of "Happy When I'm Crying."

Would you go to a Pearl Jam concert where they only song they played was "The Fixer" but every time Ed sings "yeah" it gets faster? The ticket price would be the same as any other show.

I think its time for Ed to write a song about the Bad Radio days. Was the Reggae Woman real? Who can say but its an enjoyable tune.

half-assed theory: the beginning of the end for pj wasn't roskilde or target or pj20 or dog collars, etc...it was ed becoming a dad. everything he's done with pj* since then has been forced, bad and lame. very dad-like. google says his oldest kid is 12, so that's like 2004, 2005? math works for me.
*does not apply to solo stuff like ITW. he should do more solo stuff.

I guess I should listen more to ITW but it didn't do much for me. Ed turned 33 in 1997 so according to the Chuck Klosterman theory Yield is his last vital work.guestT wrote:half-assed theory: the beginning of the end for pj wasn't roskilde or target or pj20 or dog collars, etc...it was ed becoming a dad. everything he's done with pj* since then has been forced, bad and lame. very dad-like. google says his oldest kid is 12, so that's like 2004, 2005? math works for me.

i don't think so. the change that made him a bad pearl jammer might have made him a better solo artist.stip wrote:that asterisk kind of invalidates that theory, doesnt itguestT wrote:half-assed theory: the beginning of the end for pj wasn't roskilde or target or pj20 or dog collars, etc...it was ed becoming a dad. everything he's done with pj* since then has been forced, bad and lame. very dad-like. google says his oldest kid is 12, so that's like 2004, 2005? math works for me.
