Come Together is like Smells Like Teen Spirit or Jeremy or Enter Sandman. It's not their fault I'm burned out on them but they're great songs I just don't ever need to hear again. The rest of that list is fantastic Trag.

Re: And We Are All Together / The Beatles Thread
There's a passage in a Nick Hornby essay, probably about some new-ish music and how it applies to his life etc etc. The passage ends along the lines of "...besides, when's the last time you actual listened to a Beatles album, start-to-finish, anyway?" I don't remember where it's from and I'm probably modifying the sentiment slightly, but I remember reading that years ago and thinking there would never be a day that a Beatles album wasn't fresh on my mind. Of course that's not true now and I can start to identify with that sentiment and probably a lot more of Hornby's sentiments as I get into my mid-thirties. And yet, "It's All Too Much" just came on this playlist and it sounded so fresh and new. It's the understatement of the century to say how fantastic these guys were at nailing a melody and getting what they wanted out of a studio.

I think Help! is one of my favorites Beatles albums, For Sale is great too but I don't care about the majority of the covers.

I love this song so much. It changed a lot of how I perceived music and sound when I was a kid.tragabigzanda wrote: I Want You (She's So Heavy)

Re: And We Are All Together / The Beatles Thread
I've been on a big post-Beatles 70-75 kick lately.
It's the first time I've truly appreciated Band on the Run. Probably because it is equal parts of Abbey Road and Let it Be, and I find the former to be a safe rehash and the latter lost and dull. But Band is one of those post-band records that makes it easy to imagine what the Beatles could have been in the 70s.
And I still think it's amazing how completely people had given up on McCartney prior to that record, especially with Ram sitting on their shelves.

Re: And We Are All Together / The Beatles Thread
It was one of the first albums I ever obsessed over. When I was in like the 4th grade I had a mop top bowl cut thing going on and someone in school said I looked like a Beatle. When I told my folks about it we realized I wasn't actually familiar with much of their music and my dad was all "alright we're gonna get you copies of Abbey Road and The White Album, that should keep you busy for a while".LetMeSleep wrote:Discovering this album was a blast.cutuphalfdead wrote:Same.bodysnatcher wrote:I love this song so much. I think that song is impressive, probably my favorite from "With the Beatles". I was actually going to make a post about how glad I was to see you listing it as one of your favorite early tracks but I forgot.darth_vedder wrote:chewm wrote:

This is all reminding me of our tournament on the old board. I added all our songs to a playlist. It think it was 90 total.
