Re: Star Wars: The Prequels
I dunno.
I'm flirting with the idea of going total black out for 8
Which is odd cos anything that was gonna leak to spoil it already has given its finished shooting ages ago.
He an interesting experiment to see could you even avoid the title.

A star wars forum without Dime is not a world i want to live in.
Besides, without Dime then we just have LV. We need balance in the force.

I don't necessarily disagree with that (some tension / visceral) , but...LoathedVermin72 wrote:Well, I disagree with that. I think there's a lot of tension in the sequence. Lucas directed the action set-pieces very skillfully in TPM, and I think the result is quite visceral.@SkitchP wrote:LoathedVermin72 wrote:I don't think so at all. It's Anakin proving himself. His whole future is on the line. There's a lot at stake.durdencommatyler wrote:In a vacuum, the podracing scene is fantastic. I just don't think it works in the film. Or rather, it's completely disposable in the context of the film. It adds nothing and the movie could have been the exact same or better without it. It's overly indulgent and actually takes away more than it adds. But in and of itself it's a cool sequence.
In the universe, yes. As tension in the film? None. Therefore it added nothing.

Awful.

Attack of the Clones rewatch:
So far, I'm seeing obvious flaws but nothing nearly on par with the mess that is The Phantom Menace. This is supposed to be the really bad one, right? The acting is horrible, the action sequences require a large amount of belief suspension, and the CGI landscapes make it all look like a screensaver, but I'll be damned if that diner on Coruscant isn't one of my new favorite places in the Galaxy. That bar with the space football game looks like a Dave & Busters, though.

Re: Star Wars: The Prequels
I spoke literally a blu-ray chapter too soon.
In the last ten minutes I've witnessed Anikan and Padme frolicking in the meadows of Naboo (is this Venice or Vienna or both?), the introduction of Jango and Boba, more Anikan and Padme seduction (now in the playboy mansion), and some borderline rape culture via emotional blackmail.

At least I can follow this plot? Kind of. Not fully making sense of the Jango/Clone army connection.

Yes he is the genetic template for all the clones, and Boba was also a clone he raised as a son.washing machine wrote:I don't fucking know!
