Interesting question on collider the other day. Disney actually puts out a lot of films that flop completely. Relative to expectation.

Im not questioning their power of earning money.
Im just afraid of see how big they got. They own the biggest franchises in the world. Its just weird.

Hey, I'm with you. It's a lot like American politics. It's too much power and influence.

It's probably why for now they're not pitching their properties against each other.

Keep the marvel stuff in summer and Star Wars at Christmas

Though I do think they'll break that mold eventually. Probably after han.

I do think marvel have oversaturated and now they're adding Defenders to their output. I mean it's already too much. But obviously not if they're still doing it.

I think it's too much. But the box office dollars would beg to differ. And box office dollars are way better at arguing than I.

i wonder when this era of serialized movies is going to end. I guess maybe in the future they will need to do one of two and let the people rest a little bit more...i mean Marvel has 3 movies for this year right?

I can't even keep track of how many there are/were. I have no idea anymore.

Normally, I'd agree that this era has to end, that things are cyclical. But I just don't know. I hope you're right. But it's too lucrative and TV is filling so many other needs for other types of stories. This might be the foreseeable future.

well, everything ends. And the market is pretty flooded with this things...is also true that this movies make tons of money until one day they dont anymore.

I do think they need to calm down a little bit.

since the movies and shows continue to be commercial and critical successes people are probably more tired of how much oxygen outside of the theater these serialized properties these things absorb, rather than the films themselves*. After all, three movies over 12 months doesnt ask much of audiences, who can go watch something else. but they dominate conversations the entire year.
