We debated between this and "Wilderpeople" on Saturday, and went with the Widlers. It was a fun film.

Then you're not watching the right setups.
For me, my eyes are moving out of alignment so I see shadows of everything right next to it, a slight doubling. This makes fidelity a moot point and why I'm in no great hurry to upgrade.

Though I could probably parlay this into an argument for a bigger TV...hmm.

Arrival - Was really good, although Mrs Rangi and I have been picking apart the plot since we watched it

I'm not dead inside. But it might sound like it after this.

La la land is fucking awful. It literally assumes you're stupid and goes from there.
A more mindless sickeningly saccharine to the point of nauseating piece of guff you will not see this year.

It's bizarre people are saying it's the best film of the year. Huge difference between how it's being showered in glory stateside and eviscerated for the god awful lies of shit it is over this side. Maybe it's the film America needs right now. I don't know.

Spare yourself and avoid it at all costs. It's fuckin turgid.

I've found Amazon's "Customers Also Watched" feature to be pretty helpful at times; load up a movie you've watched before and see if there's anything free that pops up that looks interesting.
