RIP Scott Weiland, he can't resurrect from the dead to reunite Velvet Revolver, because their lead singer is Axl Rose now, and those of us who want more Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine can go fuck ourselves. Because Trump's so shitty we get this shitty band back again. Yay grunge nu metal.
Audioslave was the first band I couldn't figure out their output at all. All these recording sessions, all these "we have 30 good songs recorded and ready to go" and we get three albums. I know they have at least two more albums worth of material, just put it out. You don't have to tour behind it ffs.
I liked the last album from them the best, it was a good melding of Soundgarden and RATM.
With this news I'm assuming the reason RATM isn't getting back together is because of Zach? Seems like everyone else in the group wants to play, between this and Prophets. Or did some of them have a falling out?

He's supposedly going to release a solo album with production from EL P, there was a single last year from it called Digging For Windows. Now whether or not it actually comes out is anyone's guess, since it's Zack De La Rocha after all.
I love their self titled, i think is pretty awesome. And their third album hinted towards something new more r&b oriented...it was good. Their second one was just ok.
I want a new SG album so i dont really need them to be a " band" but if its going to be a few shows or something like Temple Of The Dog was, it really nice with me.

Audioslave such a disappointment ... I love soundgarden ... I loved RATM ... You figure putting them together could yield something interesting... instead it was RATM minus Zack playing a dumber and more hastily prepared vanilla version of RATM's music, with Cornell struggling to just blandly scream as much as possible over top of it; with the exception of the few solo soapstar songs he managed to push into the production process that came across as totally terrible and totally out of place for that ensemble.
that said - there is still NOTHING on this planet worse than watching Chris Cornell sing those RATM songs during the live Audioslave shows - absolute shit and an embarrassment to RATM and to Cornell. I won't even link to any of them here it is such garbage. A sad chapter in Cornell's life - the guy was obviously wasted out of his mind the whole time - and it really made me lose a lot of respect for Tom Morello; something I am sure he is still reeling from, because obviously he cares a lot what I think about him.

When the demos for the songs that would eventually end up on the first album leaked on Napster or Limewire or whatever under the name the Civilian Project I fell pretty hard for it. Those songs were on heavy rotation for a long time. By the time the actual album came out it was a couple years later I think. Compared to the demos obviously it sounded way overproduced and lacked energy. I mostly dismissed it though the farther I got away from the demos the more I enjoyed it. The second album had its moments. Number 1 Zero is probably their best song. The third was promising in spots too. I was hoping Jewel Of The Summertime was the direction they would follow on the next album. I want a Soundgarden album next but I'd take a Audioslave release after that over a another solo Cornell record.
first Audioslave album is underrated & a casualty of revisionist history. Zach definitely ain't in to rehashing anything at this point, which I respect. Fuck you I won't do what you tell me.
