Probably the single worst line of dialogue in any non-OT film is in Rogue One. There's nothing modern or "street" about the line. But it doesn't fit the character and throws a brick into the scene and the momentum of the film.
Meanwhile, Finn, yelling more modern dialogue really doesn't bother me because it fits him and what we know about him so far.
Which line in R1? I found For Jedha!! A bit eye rolly but it passed.

The entire theater groaned both times that I saw it. Some laughed. But pretty much everyone took their eyes off the screen to look at the people they were with. Completely took people out of the movie.Strat wrote:That was so baddurdencommatyler wrote:"Careful not to choke on your aspirations."dimejinky99 wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:It all depends on the character and what's consistent for that character.

Anakin always had a darker humour and this fit the character perfectly.

Both lines didn't bother me.
And "Droid, please" sounds completely different to what I thought reading the previous page. The pleading tone changes it away from lame.

Would the last Jedi been a better name for 7? And then have the force awakens for 8?
Interesting idea.

You guys are nuts.
It's almost the least corny line in all of Star Wars corny lines. And Star Wars has almost nothing but corny lines.

Yeah, I didn't interpret it as a "bitch, please" reference at all. just sounded like he was pleading with a droid and he didn't know the name of the droidLetMeSleep wrote:Both lines didn't bother me.
