I agree with everything except that there is any shame in the failure to predict an outcome where unknown actors and thoroughly unparalleled circumstances are involved. Prediction in news is not like weather forecasting, and the only thing they should regret is falling into the clickbait game of acting like it is.

But everybody was wrong, mostly because they couldn't imagine people actually voting for someone that unqualified, and I think based on their complicity beforehand and based on what we've seen in the first week, they have a duty to be the opposition party now. They're actually speaking for the majority by doing that at this point.

What are they supposed to say about the horrible things he's doing? Are we supposed to go along with this shit because we might offend his base? His base is not the majority and from what I can tell he's losing support every day.

I'm just getting tired at this idea that we should be more offended by the reaction to things like racism and inequality than the actual racism and inequality that is happening. I refuse to cater to the most base and vile actors in our society and I don't think the media should either.
