i like the solo (reminds me of what he was doing on Riot Act), but it does kinda seem like all his repressed soloing that was stifled on riot act got crammed into this.

He was pretty stifled on Backspacer, sounds strange that you'd hark back all that way!

No. A vocal minority of the usual Red Mosquito Board dorks might not like it but I think overall it's being well received.

some people like it, some don't. most have given some info on what they did our didn't like about it. if you want mind numbing, endless praise, pj.com's forums are probably a better bet for you.

I was hoping the new album would be more like "Of The Earth," which is...I dunno, music that likes exploring "space"? It's weird and hard to describe. I think this song is pretty good, but just not that interesting. I just hope that doesn't preclude anything like "Of The Earth" from being on the record.

I agree with this, a lot. Space. Yes. I don't want every song to sound the same, but I do want a sense of space in just about every damn one. I'm certainly not getting enough of it these years.

I wasn't expecting it, no; but I was hoping!

A little puzzled at the whole "Of the Earth" need. Spacey does not necessarily equal good. Just because a song is slowed down a little, the riffs and bridges go a little longer, and there's delay on the guitar doesn't make it a serious piece of music. That said I wouldn't mind hearing how a studio version of that song would turn out.

Yeah, not me so much. I think this is leagues better than The Fixer. And a good deal better than WWS. But let's see how it grows.

agreed. he starts to go to that high end where he sounds terrible, but kinda reigns his voice in just right. i really like his vocals on this.
