Backspacer was so bad that I'd be more than happy with an album that was as good as Avocado.

Comatose, Spin the Black Circle, Habit, Gods' Dice, Blood... even Brain of J (to a different degree) are not usually songs that pull me in and lock me down. Hearing STBC for the first time really turned me off. I was not looking forward to Vitalogy at all after that guy. But I really can't get enough of MYM.

I've been listening to it on repeat for just under an hour now and I'm enamored. It seems to early to start garlanding the thing with crowns and jewels, but based on first impressions, this is the best Pearl Jam song of it's kind since Brain of J. And I like my initial, first impression even more.

And I'm just about ready to go ahead and say that I like this song more than at least 8 songs on Backspacer. Maybe all of Backspacer.

If I was to compare it to the Fixer, I'd say it's potentially much better lyrically, but it's not nearly as interesting in terms of production.

I think that's a good thing.

I think it's very Matt/Jeff-ish so people are automatically gonna hate it because it's too creative.

this song sounds familiar to people because it seems like it is influenced by a cover of the Germs they did in early 2000s called lions share. same feel and it uses its signature riff

I don't think anyone's mentioned The Dead Kennedys. To me, it's the most obvious influence here, and I say that as an extremely good thing.

it's easier to make out with headphones but I like the bit that (mike?) is playing underneath the bridge

I definitely get a STBC/Brain of J vibe from this. Really digging it. Hope the album has a nice mixture of different styles on it.

The two melodic sweet spots are pulling it back for me. He sounds great.

Good review Stip.

And, I was really surprised by this and how those pieces flowed comfortably together. At least to my ears, this song didn't sound like one of their "frankensongs" where they attempt to go a few places in a song, but fall short of seamless transitions.

I enjoyed it very much, a nice surprise I must admit. Very...motorheadish.

Don't get carried away, mate. It's a good song, but it's nothing mind blowing.

The lossless download sounds great. Maybe a little shiny and compressed, but not too much. There are some nice, subtle details here.

The song really does go many places in such a short amount of time.
