I had no idea how Trump would cope with the Presidency, I wasn't sure he even wanted to win, but he's been off to a reasonably impressive start so far. Early days, however.

I don't even know how to respond to that without getting banned.

Here's a good response: Trump has taken 8 days to reach majority unfavorable ratings from the public. The last few presidents took at least two years to reach that point. So it is impressive, just not in the usual way we use that word.

This morning I watched a live feed from British Parliament on this immigration ban issue. They raked Boris Johnson over the coals for being a Trump apologetic. Savages!

I'm starting to think that every single thing he's done since he came into office is just a brilliant smokescreen so he can sow the seeds of (further) upheaval in the Middle East. Mark my words: We'll be engaged in war (or at least maneuvers) in the ME inside of a year, with Russian support. Divide and conquer, and maybe diminish the Muslim population while they're at it, and all the past week's news will have long since been proven unenforcible.

We are current engaged in combat in like 10 nations in that area and have been years. Outside of Iran, which even Trump would not attack, I'm not sure where else there is to hit.

Yea, but I'm not suggesting combat is the end goal. It's the same "divide, destroy, and rebuild" ethos that was behind the Iraq War and our invasion in Afghanistan. Obama, to his credits, hasn't done much modern colonization in this manner; he seems to have made an honest attempt at maintaining stability and allowing those countries to empower themselves. That's not what we'll see here. Cities will be laid to rubble, and Louis Berger and companies of that ilk (ones that Trump is invested in) will come in and build it up again. Right now he's just instigating further instability so that the case for invasion can be made later.

Maybe. I dunno. It's possible they believe that the House of Saud could fall in an Islamic revolution ala Iran. (We will be kicking ourselves for not having more domestic oil pipelines then.)

Our prime minister is under immense pressure not to attend the annual st Patrick's day celebration at the White House. He has effectively been a lapdog but had a great relationship with Obama and Biden, but only a few months ago he called Trump a racist and a buffoon.

Be interesting to see how this goes. It's the chopping block for him if he does go.
