I really like this movie. It's like gonzo Star Trek. It's The Star Trek and the Furious. It is unapologetically bananas.

This Eddington guy seems like the real hero. He's awesome. Give that guy a show. Screw the militaristic federation.

BBC America has been showing a Voyager marathon. I happened to catch an episode that I remember liking during the original run. It was called Meld. It featured Brad Dourif as a psychotic Betazoid named Lon Suder. He was a real ray of light in an otherwise milquetoast cast. The character shows up again later in the series and I remember being so disappointed how his arc ended. He really should have been made a full time cast member or at least show up like O'Brian did on TNG. I thought it was a real missed opportunity and I feel the same now. To have a character who was struggling to control extreme violent tendencies that Janeway had to surrender her principles to occasionally and unleash in critical situations would have really gave that show a shot in the arm. I guess Jerri Ryan's body served the same function though.

I recently watched all of Enterprise again. Underrated show I think. Had some great episodes. Like all Trek there are also throwaway ideas and episodes, and too much time travel. But the good stuff was class. Very enjoyable.

Discovery delayed again. No date set. I'm guessing September.

I did it everyone! I watched all the DS9s! I'm a real winner.

notes:
-When it focuses on the wormhole/Cardassians/Dominion War, it is fantastic tv.
-The Klingon and mirror world episodes are ok. Ferengi ones are entertaining sometimes.
-Those Bajor-centric early episodes are absolute death.
-The filler episodes can be skipped without missing anything.
-Seasons 4 and 6 were the best.
-The Dominion and Cardassians make old enemies like Klingons and Romulans look like cartoon characters. Very well done.

Final season thoughts:
- Whose idea was it to add Vic Fontaine?! What an insane, stupid idea.
- wrapped things up pretty well, though the last episode was a bit of a mess.
- Kira and Odo have all the chemistry of two logs rubbing together. Nana Visitor is almost cringing her way through those scenes.
- For a minute, I thought Bashir was gonna be cool once they made him a Khan clone, but he went right back to sucking.
- Ezri was better than Jadzia (who sucked). More character arc in a season than Jadzia had in 6 seasons.
- Quark kinda gets left out. Apparently the actor had moved on to Buffy by this point.

character rankings:
cool guys:
Garak
Quark
Gul Dukat
Leeta's boobs
O'Brien
Weyoun
Kira
Worf
Eddington
Nagus

ok dudes:
Gul Dumar
Sisco
Odo
Martok
Rom
Ezri
Female changeling
Nog
Kai Wenn
Morn
Brunt
Moogie

shitty losers:
Ziyal
Vic Fontaine (WTF!)
Bashir (Annoying)
Jadzia (smug Mary Sue to a hilarious degree. Neat twist on the Spock/Data model, but completely wasted.)
Jake (makes Wesley seem like a cool guy)
The wives: Keiko and Cassidy (total wastes of space)

It would be pretty cool if this turned out to be good. A miracle but cool.

I'm starting to think this show is going to happen about like the live action Star Wars show did.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

They jettison the premise of the show in about 4 episodes? Then it just becomes a lame TNG clone, without the memorable or likable characters (except maybe the doctor), but lots more technobabble. Janeway is ok I guess, but a pretty shitty captain.

I'll give it a couple of seasons.

wow this was on air for as long as DS9? I don't remember that, but I was over Star Trek by this point.

Voyager is super weak on characters. Janeway is really the only one with any presence. I hate Neelix. 7 of 9 was OK. The Year of Hell arc was pretty strong.
