This is gonna be all over the radio here. They played it 3 times in a row earlier.
The important thing is to not have the album out to capitalize on that. If you can wait to drop it until the luster's gone...you're doin alright

The model they operate under is so outdated.
Yep.
I dunno, maybe they're trying a new model. Like, may they'll release another single next month, and a third one in September, and then finally the album in October. Seems unlikely. But with illegal downloading, many bands (Radiohead, etc.) have tried new release tactics over the past decade.

I'm pissed! My local "rock" station 99.5 KISS the only Rock station here in San Antonio, TX refuses to play it. Because it's not the same Godsmak, Disturbed, or Theory of a Deadman they won't play it!!?? gggrrrrrrrrrrr........

I feel I'm done believing THANK YOU! I was having a hell of time with that line. But I think you got it.
And now the truth is coming out
What they take is more than a bow
They're taking your innocence and then they [something]

All alone they're singing Might be 'all ALONG they're singing How about "Long Live Satan"
I caught myself believing that I needed God
And if [something] is over then we sure could use him now
Tried my patience, my patience tried
This world's alone [something] makes me wanna cry

All alone they're singing
Mind your manners
(son of Satan? lol)

Self-realizing that I'm physically redeemed
May not live another life
May not solve our mystery
Ride high around the corner Pretty sure it's 'RIGHT around the corner (like RI-HIGHT)
Could be bigger than ourselves
Wake and wither to the sky I'm hearing 'we could will it to the sky'
Or we could something else

Go to heaven, that's swell
How do you like your like your living Hell?
Nice work. I'm hearing some of it a bit differently. But, really good hustle, buddy.

Listening again. The music into the solo sounds very much like Comatose. But this song's better than Comatose.

yes, it seems like they took this one to the rewrite factory a few more times than they have with recent similar output.

Pearl Jam usually finds a way to meet me on the road. Every once in a while we take different exits or we leave a few hours apart. But usually we end up side by side again. Mind Your Manners is in perfect step with me right now. Where I'm at emotionally and where I'm at spiritually. This song feels like coming home to my old familiar friends, trading stories and drinking way too much.

These aren't groundbreaking lyrics. But they are relatable (at least to me) and they aren't trying too hard. This one and I are going to be good friends. And those that hoped Eddie had something to be pissed about again, well here you go. He's had it out with the church and faith before, but this one is much more direct. No tightrope metaphors. No attempts at meeting in the middle. Not this time.

I love this song, guys.

This song would be a huge amount of fun live, and you know how unlikely I am to say that kind of thing as I never get to see them live. I'm more intrigued about what's on the rest of this album than I have been for a long time.

Ed is very good with sarcasm. That helps songs like this a lot.

With my frame of mind at the moment (depression / anxiety / anger, you name it), this one's perfect. It's instantly catchy and infectious and not amazingly profound but that's almost definitely a good thing. I want to listen to music I enjoy at the moment, not music I have to look deeply through and unpack.

I think this song is gonna be lots of fun live...as songs like this (Comatose, Got Some etc.) tend to be.
