Good to know...yeah Axl is impressive. The last true rock star.Rangi Guy wrote:Well the weather last night wasn't great - strong winds and it was raining pretty much during the entire gig. Fortunately Mrs Rangi and I were seated where it was sheltered, but I feel for the poor buggers that were on the field the whole night.
Wolfmother played before GnR took the stage, and were pretty great. Been a fan of these guys for a while and despite the numerous band changes - these guys are still tight and put on a great show.
GnR were around 45 minutes late taking the stage - blaming the weather and stage being slippery, but when they came on - they were tight as from the beginning. Axl definitely has his voice back and Slash and Duff were on fire. There were a few sound issues where we were sitting, but despite these it was a great concert. These guys have certainly aged well

Ticket prices bottomed out here in the weeks leading up to the concert. Wish I'd waited to get mine

Duff looks so much better these days. At the same time, im so impressed with his career...not only GNR or Velvet Revolver, but his Seattle story too.
That guy has been around for ages.

Just watching a few clips from their 2016 tour and some songs Axl did with ACDC, man he sounds good.

Antwerp and Barcelona '06 for Hunger Strike. Bad idea. I think PJ wanted to warm up before the Paris show (the song was on the original setlist), Chris Cornell might have been around at that time but nothing happened eventually.cutuphalfdead wrote:It was definitely Europe.Birds in Hell wrote:2006 Euro tour - Barcelona, I think? Mike and Ed joined Wolfmother on two different songs (Woman and Mind's Eye if I remember correctly) when they opened in Barcelona '06, way better.

Re: Even more Guns N Roses Hilarity
Saw these gents last night. It was very loud indeed.
First time going to a concert sitting in a "box". I enjoyed being bought beer to my seat.
Still, don't think that will be happening again anytime soon.

It wasnt Axl, it was a dude who is a presenter for some of their shows.Rangi Guy wrote:Di they get your city correct? Heard they opened their Melbourne show by coming out and saying 'Hello Sydney!!!'

Re: Even more Guns N Roses Hilarity
They were pretty good actually. Axl had some vocal issues, flubbed a few lines and was irritated about things at one point, but otherwise rocking. I think the mix could certainly have been better, but I guess that's a trade-off at stadium shows.
