Not nearly as big a problem as white right-wing terrorism, which this administration is apparently going to stop combating. Why shouldn't I be more afraid of radicalized whites when they're the ones killing my fellow Americans?
I think border protection and domestic counter-terrorism are two distinct issues, I'm wary of inferring much regarding one from a decision made regarding the other.

Neither is a problem.

Birds in Hell wrote:That's a blatantly bizarre yardstick to use.

I wouldn't necessarily think of Cato as being in natural opposition to the progressive left on this issue either; aren't they quite libertarian in their outlook? Not that I think it matters, I think it's generally unwise to deduce too much from subjective perceptions of people's motives and intent.
First of all, I agree with the bolded. I was merely saying that no one as far as I can tell believes their numbers are off, which is the important point.

As for the first point, I think it's ludicrous to suggest that looking at whether immigrants from the countries an immigrant ban was imposed upon have been dangerous to people on U.S. soil. Keeping people from these countries from committing terrorist acts is quite literally the only stated point of this action.

Oh no! Signs!

Tell that to the people being attacked right now because they wear a MAGA hat (or just happen to be in the wrong place) or the positively immense gang warfare infesting this country that makes all the Muslim terrorists, school shooters, left and right wing nutjobs seem insignificant in comparison.

Suggesting that anything Spenno has said suggests that he actually supports White Supremacy pretty much invalidates your arguments cause you go straight for a hysterical claim at the end

When someone reads a Steve Bannon interview promoting the resurgence of "Judeo-Christian capitalism" and their response is "I don't see much wrong with this"...

But I'll leave dude alone in the interest of board harmony.

Pardon me if I have more sympathy for people being shot to death in mosques then someone who was pepper sprayed by a random black bloc asshat at a Milo rally.

What about the guy beaten unconscious (then beaten some more)? or the guy dragged by a car? or the disabled kid who was tortured? Or the victims of the Dallas shooter? Any sympathy for them?

Is it even debatable which sides' authoritarian asshats have been more violent in the last six months? Granted, the Trumpsters won, so they don't have much to be angry about, but so far it's been no contest. Maybe save a little worry for the leftists.

C'mon dude, I was very sympathetic to the Dallas victims, that was a horrifying situation. Obviously escalating violence of any kind is horrifying. In terms of the new power structure though, I'm much more worried about the people in charge than the people opposing them. They and their followers have more power, more guns, and they tend to shoot and bomb more than riot and smash. There are legitimate concerns that our increasingly militarized law enforcement has been infiltrated by white supremacists, which everyone should be concerned about. Last time I checked there were no black bloc members a few days away from a seat on the security council.

Dodd-Frank threatened.

Finally something the whole country should protest. Good thing we haven't been on a constant state of whining for the last... oh hell.

The FBI confirmed that white supremacists have infiltrated law enforcement.

The irony of all this is that Islamic terrorism actually DID feel like a legitimate concern until Trump took office. Now it feels utterly minuscule compared to how unsafe Trump and his policies make me feel. Our enemy is within our walls now.

Yep. Nothing safer than that, is there?

Goddammit. The fucking NRA makes me sick. After years of saying it's not gun's fault, it the system's for allowing this person that has mental problems to have a gun, now they've made it easier for them to get one.

WTF is happening?
