Jessa and Adam destroyed everything in their house then had sex.
Marnie had sex with her ex-boyfriend/current heroin addict.
I can't remember what the others did. I think Shosh and Ray had a heart-to-heart at Cafe Grumpy? And then Hanna was most likely annoying.
Marnie and Ray are together...he is with her in the tour.

Shosh is helping Ray with his coffee shop...Hanna is over Jessa and Adam. Hanna´s dad goes to see his possible boyfriend.
This is far more accurate than trag's (hilarious?) breakdown.
Thanks VG, I had forgotten about Hanna getting over Jessa and Adam. And that scene with Hanna's dad and his crush was really great. I hope they explore Hanna's parents even more in the final season. How two great people created such a monster of a child is beyond me.
Well, her parents are both pretty neurotic and damaged in their own right.

It was so cathartic. That montage at the end that takes us through all the characters and where they've settled at the end of the season was brilliant. And Hannah's slow transition back to being a writer and moving past her more selfish tendencies was masterful. It was a lovely finale and one of the strongest season all around.

Last season was stellar. I shit on Lena Dunham a lot, but I've got a ton of respect for her talent. She's got a very defined and singular voice.
Absolutely. I'm really curious to see what she does after this.

There's a giant GIRLS Final Season billboard in Times Square that I get to look at everyday on my way to and from work. Fills me with so much joy.

Exactly.

Gotta say, after a few of Lena´s own misadventures, im not sure if Hanna is such a fictional character at all.

It's sort of like this bizarre pseudo-prologue to GIRLS. It's a damn fine film.

I hope she goes into cinema more now...the indie flicks need her.

I agree she could make more great films, but hopefully she'll start to explore some different themes.
I'm sure she will. I can't imagine she's all that interested (after one feature film 6 seasons of tv, and a personal essay collection) in exploring these same themes beyond this point. You'll see some parallel themes, some familiarity crop up from time to time, of course. But I wouldn't be surprised if her first film as a writer/director is something much different thematically; even if it has a similar tone.

But I could be wrong. We'll see. Either way, I agree with you trag.

I could see her going the Woody Allen route -- exploring a small handful of themes across many different films, maybe exploring different film genres -- which I guess would be fine.
I'd love to see her take on different genres. That could be really cool. But mostly I just want her to make something she's passionate about, something where she feels she has something to say.

tragabigzanda wrote:Therein lies the rub. Not sure she has much life experience beyond that which she's already mined. I don't want to hear her thoughts on celebrity culture, and there are many other talented artists tackling issues of race and gender (informed by their own experiences). I don't want to assume anything, but what does she know beyond being a young white affluent female artist?
I have no idea what she's experienced, but dismissing her like that, after everything she has proved and gained and shown as an artists is super insulting and narrow. Even if that is all she knows what does that automatically mean she has nothing of value to say?
