I watched Tracy Morgan's episode from last year the other night. That was fun. My favorite part was when he mispronounced Jane Krakowski's name at the end when he was thanking the cast/crew. She laughed it off and was so graceful about it that it was charming.

Thanks weezer. With the exception of the Trump ep (which I boycotted), I've seen every episode since Woody Harrelson hosted in '89, and most of the earlier ones too. Have read all the books, listened to a lot of podcasts, and done the SNL tour. I even tried to get a gig on the show, on the sound crew, to no avail...

So I am a huge SNL dork. But I think it's the worst it's ever been right now, barring maybe the Dick Ebersol years.

I actually quite enjoy the Ebersol years. Sure there's rough stuff in there, but some real gems, as well.

Yea, the highs from the Ebersol years are excellent, but the lows are reeeeeally low.

But it's the only era that the word "fuck" made it on air.

Nope, Norm dropped one once during update. A big flew into his lip or something and he said "What the fuck was that?"

Norm wasn't bleeped on the East Coast. He was already "on notice" for reasons I can't recall and he got the sack not long after that. I do remember that his last few Weekend Updates were painfully unfunny with practially no audience reaction.

I also remember a few years later, Cheri Oteri accidentally saying "shit" during her "old lady on the porch" bit when her mumu got caught on something, but that was a lot funnier.

Real Talk: for those who dislike Leslie Jones... why is her one note comedy different or "less than" to you than Will Ferrell's one note comedy?

And I don't believe Will Ferrell is even remotely one-note. While the joke is always the same -- he's always playing a guy who is completely oblivious to how ridiculous he's coming across to other people -- he manages to create fresh versions of that character constantly. The guy from Stepbrothers is not the guy from Anchorman is not the guy from Casa de Mi Padre is not the guy from Talladega Nights. Leslie Jones is not doing anything like that, but I don't necessarily think it's her fault.
