I actually think Eddie's attempt to go soul-man on that last verse of the Detroit "NAIS" sounds pretty bad. I admire his attempt at melodic variation, but I don't. think his pipes were quite up to that one -- he doesn't really seem very sure where he wants to go.

For once - KD is so very wrong. This is a dark day on RM.

So many on the '00, '03, and '05 tours.

I think I watched this DVD 100 times as a teenager. Long Road is a perfect opener. The 3:30 mark...

I've always loved the change of pitch at about. 4:07

And i cant understand what he's saying at all, but the tag from this not for you 5:40 onward would be awesome as a song.

I feel like it speaks to the general lack of interpretive variation in PJ's performances from night to night that this version of "NAIS" -- whose legendary status hinges on the fact that Eddie alters the melody literally to one-and-a-half lines -- is seen as some kind of performance triumph. But it's cool -- if we're voting on snippets, I vote for "he still smiles, and he's still strong" from London '05.

Well its also McCready cranking that Delay up to 11, the wailing siren, Cameron pounding away at the crash and kick drum to a beautiful climax.

So true about this entire DVD, and reminds me that you can actually see my head in the front row from the two San Bernadino performances.

At the 1:07 mark, I am in the lower left hand corner with a buddy of mine. So much fun. Ed had a cold that night, but still killed it, and it was fairly cold in the mountains. Beautiful scene. I recommend the entire San Bernardino bootleg. The first nine songs are off the hook!

This thread could turn into a great fan made project. If we could create list of these performances, we could have Ridley and other other talented RMers with vast collections like Chud create a bootleg with the full performances. I'm still blown away and surprised that I never knew about the Detroit NAIS performance and there must be other songs that I don't know about and that frustrates me.

Check the "keys to the locks on the chains" line on "GTF" from this show, at about 1:50 -- pretty sure that's a one-time thing...
