He does sound good, but t's not about him not being able to reach a note, it's about his lung capacity and ability to sustain a phrase. And he doesn't have that ability anymore at this point for these types of songs. So why write them??
He'll be totally out of breath and lost before this ones halfway through. Enjoy it of you see it live, can't see it being a set list regular.
He sounds like he's singing more from his chest than his head in this song... just my gut reaction.
Would seriously love to hear someone who really knows the ins and outs of singing to critique his performance on this track.
Some sausages can remain a mystery.

I've been in forums discussing his technical abilities and its even more polarizing than the drummer debate.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

Sounds so dull. Just a buzzing noise like all the rockers off of Backspacer.

Oh well, I'm sure their Phoenix concert will rock. And at least I have Arcade Fire's next release to look forward to.

Yeah but just keep it to this song and I think we can handle it.

Good first impression, though my first thoughts were how the hell is Ed going to sing this live?

The beginning sounds like it came from a Cameron-penned sideways artsy jam, but they decided to leave it intact this time and shoe-horn it in :nice:

So the STBC comparisons weren't too far off.

It sounds like Ole was a test run for this song (in a good way).

It's a perfect melding of Hurr Durr and Nyah Hee

If by "this" you mean Mind Your Manners, then :luv:

But Ole is still a good jam.
