From the dawn of the board until the start of the current incarnation of the board, it was [youtube] and it functioned the way [yt] currently functions.

When setting up the new board B made the [youtube] code function the way it currently functions.

A handful of us were like "wtf b, why did you change the code? the urls are slightly different depending on how you got to the video so it's less universal this way, and no one had a problem with how it worked before".

B dug in, refusing to change it.

Under enormous pressure from the masses, crackpot had to finally made the [yt] code as some sort of compromise, because B was unwilling to admit it was a stupid idea to change it in the first place and needed to be changed back.
