Trump is no idiot and I would say that it's probable that he's a master at improvisation. A good friend of mine with 20+ years experience with an MBA believes that Trump is mostly Don Quixotic about making America "great again."

I didn't vote for him and I'm wary about his Presidency because government is not a "business." And citizens are not "employees."

Japanese leadership are kindred spirits with Tump because their culture:

hates foreigners
oppresses women
loves bathrobes

The decision says it is "well established" that when considering the legality of government actions courts can consider public comments such as Trump's public call for a ban on immigration by Muslims.
I don't know if Spenno is still around, but I'm curious what his take (or anyone else) is on this since he has been pretty adamant that the comments surrounding the ban don't matter at all and shouldn't be cause for people becoming hysterical about it since the ban doesn't say "Muslim", but this indicates that there is a judicial precedent in the U.S. that allows the courts to do just that when considering the constitutionality of an action.
I'm not sure that's an entirely accurate summary of my feelings on the matter but, with the admission that I've had other things going on and so haven't kept up with this as much in the last few days, I don't see why my feelings on the matter should change on the basis of whatever the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals thinks.

Other considerations aside, eg. the constitutionality of the law, I still think it seems to be a reasonable policy in broad terms - and very popular electorally, I suspect.

I despise freedom and believe that autocracy is the only viable solution to prevent complete human self-extinction. True, there will need to be a significant reduction in human biodiversity in order for us to be able to evolve to the next plateau of existence; but Lord Trump has been ordained by Xenu to bless the earth with the purifying essence of fire.

The constitution must be destroyed. All must bow to Trump. PS new SG album 2017 fuck yeah dogg
I think people on this board have been a little unfair trying to stereotype Spenno as some generic vanguard for the Trump administration. Let's just try to step back and calm down and let free and unbiased exchange of ideas run its course and we'll be all the better for it.

“Apparently there's a big underground movement of right-wing bodybuilders -- thousands.  Their plan is to surface spectacularly this April, in a choreographed flash demo on the Mall.  They'll be totally nude, but wearing MAGA hats.  Goal is to intimidate Congress with pure masculine show of youth, energy.  Trump is said to know, will coordinate with powerful EOs…”

The decision is nitpicking. If Trump wrote the same EO and said green card holders and visa holders were exempt, he would win anywhere other than that particular court. The equal protection clause doesn't extend to non-us citizens on non-us soil, so in theory he can discriminate in any way he wants

it would be great if the whole thing was just a setup perpetrated by the alt-gay movement. penetrate the white house's back door communication channels and convince them that they are a bunch of muscley right-wing guys that want to show congress what white bod is made of; then descend on the national mall in a rush of oiled masculinity and proceed to gay orgy like it's NYE in Fire Island

It'd be the first time in months it didn't feel like we're living in the opening credits footage of World War Z of the Apes.

Mike Flynn’s already tense relationships with others in the Trump administration and the intelligence community are growing more fraught after reports that the National Security Adviser breached diplomatic protocols in his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the United States.

On Friday, one of Flynn’s closest deputies on the National Security Council, senior director for Africa Robin Townley, was informed that the Central Intelligence Agency had rejected his request for an elite security clearance required for service on the NSC, according to two people with direct knowledge of the situation.

I'm not sure I remember even the infamous pre-Obamacare town halls as being as explosive as these.
