Me too, but I don't think it's going to sound any better than what we have.mkay0 wrote:VinylGuy wrote:i want the vinyl now.

I read on another board that the "Me and Beth" line was cut from Not For You. Listening to it, it does sound like there's an unnatural cut there, but I haven't listened to the audience recording to verify yet.cutuphalfdead wrote:I just have to save the tracks and upload them and frankly, right now I'm too lazy to finish it.

its not just because of the sound, but for the ritual of playing it.southp wrote:Me too, but I don't think it's going to sound any better than what we have.mkay0 wrote:VinylGuy wrote:i want the vinyl now.

Agreed. Then again I've only got the mp3's right now so it'll actually sound better too!

I guess you only really need to upload the pre-show track, PMPM, Soldier of Love and YB?...

Yeah I'm thinking of only uploading the tracks that are necessary. I'd probably upload Long Road as well so the transition out of the pre-show show speech is better and doesn't start the song with a fade when it's really track 3. I might have to upload Immortality too to make the transition into PMPM smoother. But as you can see from the screenshot I posted, everything else in the official release is complete so the tracks would be the same.ridleybradout wrote:Thanks for doing this Pete - where you at with it?cutuphalfdead wrote:I just have to save the tracks and upload them and frankly, right now I'm too lazy to finish it.

Did you re-"Me n' Beth"-ify Not For You?cutuphalfdead wrote:Yeah I'm thinking of only uploading the tracks that are necessary. You know, I didn't even notice that the first time through, mostly because I didn't listen to everything and just matched the visual wave form to make sure everything lined up. I'll check on that though and see what I can pull off.Birds in Hell wrote:Did you re-"Me n' Beth"-ify Not For You?cutuphalfdead wrote:Yeah I'm thinking of only uploading the tracks that are necessary. Given what you had to work with, I think it sounds as good as it can.

It's tough to make it sound smooth. I can't just play them on top of each other, I have to drop the volume of the official release so that section isn't louder than the rest of the song in the mix down. But in doing so you can hear the change between the two of them. I'm going to try it again with less of a drop and see what happens.
Also, before I could even mix them I had to hard limit the audience recording to bring up ed's voice, which is pretty low in the overall mix when he says "me 'n beth".

When you are done you shoudl send it to ed. or, rather, just to Jill.cutuphalfdead wrote:It's tough to make it sound smooth. I think this sounds better. I dropped the official release by 4db instead of 6.

Yeah, it's something of a compromise.
I don't know, it's up to you: if you think it harms the overall sonic experience more than it helps, leave it out.
