Bought A Moon Shaped Pool on vinyl the other day. Had only heard Burn the Witch and Daydreaming before getting this - what a fantastic album! I love the shit out of this!

I'm tempted to say, "So you love the album so much that it became an EP?" but this has grown on me a bit since the summer. Just a bit though.Rangi Guy wrote:Bought A Moon Shaped Pool on vinyl the other day. Had only heard Burn the Witch and Daydreaming before getting this - what a fantastic album! Sometimes, I like Amnesiac more than Kid A. It might even be "most of the time."

Re: The everyone LOVES radiohead thread!
Kid A is the one that grew on my and surpassed Amnesiac after initial listens so many years ago. There's more life in it, overall. More stretches and passages that sonically appeal to me. The back end of both albums are really, really strong, but the front end of Kid A gives it the edge.
Also, slightly related: I was riding with a friend the other day and her stereo had the title track from Kid A on when she fired up the car. I was slightly disoriented and a little disappointed that The National Anthem didn't follow, but it was better in the end because I probably wouldn't have been too social if she had the full album on.

Listening to Kid A now.
There is no way Amnesiac is better.

Tour getting very close!
Have tix for Portland & Berkeley, some Seattle friends are dangling a floor ticket @ Key for me as well
Word of advice for anyone on the floor @ Key, set up near the back in front of the soundboard. Really your only option for optimal sound in that place. Also the light show will be better from there.

I appreciate it from a political perspective, but for entertainment value?

They'll announce a larger US tour later in the fall, right? Right?

Mayybee? Who the hell knows with them. I'm just glad they're playing Portland this leg. It's been 21 years (actually, 21 years tomorrow) since they were last here.washing machine wrote:They'll announce a larger US tour later in the fall, right? Right?
I'm not too excited about the opening act but Radiohead never picks bands I want to see as opening acts. Oh well. They like to showcase either obscure bands or obscure political bands...and that's fine. That's their right.
I'm just hoping they'll keep "Let Down" in the set this tour as I'd really, really, really love to hear it finally.

Seriously. I thought I was finally getting it last year after following the setlists. Fucking A if the one US show where it didn't get played is the one I went to..matt reeder wrote:I'm just hoping they'll keep "Let Down" in the set this tour as I'd really, really, really love to hear it finally.
Still a fantastic show, obviously.
