Re: The 45th POTUS - Donald J. Trump
John Thune is both a soulless piece of human garbage, and also pretty direct about what that means. It's made him as decisive a figure in South Dakota as a Republican can be there. It also makes this statement probably genuine.
“There’s a widely held view among our members that, yes, he’s going to say things on a daily basis that we’re not going to like,” said Senator John Thune of South Dakota, the third-ranking Senate Republican, “but that the broad legislative agenda and goals that we have — if we can stay focused on those and try and get that stuff enacted — those would be big wins.”

Re: The 45th POTUS - Donald J. Trump
big wins for who?
Fuck.
What if we just did away with our entire political system. What if we had a democrat and republican president at the same time? (or libertarian, independent, whatever) and shit wouldnt get signed into legislation unless there was actually agreements on whats best for the people? for all people? a consensus?
"A big win" is always a huge loss for the rest of the country.

Because any serious attack on south Korea would be the end of Kim's existence. The primary reason for his threats is to keep his own population in line. The rest of the world is content to let him do it.Strat wrote:So why doenst N Korea just bomb S Korea?

CNN: At Mar-a-Lago, Trump tackles crisis diplomacy at close range
Sitting alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, with whom he'd spent most of the day golfing, Trump took the (North Korea) call on a mobile phone at his table, which was set squarely in the middle of the private club's dining area.
As Mar-a-Lago's wealthy members looked on from their tables, and with a keyboard player crooning in the background, Trump and Abe's evening meal quickly morphed into a strategy session, the decision-making on full view to fellow diners, who described it in detail to CNN.

CNN: Michael Flynn has no plans to resign and no expectations that he will be fired, a senior administration official told CNN Sunday.
Administration officials, some of who were once unsure about the details of the story, now believe the national security adviser did, in fact, discuss sanctions with the Russian ambassador. A US official confirmed to CNN on Friday that Flynn and Kislyak did speak about sanctions, among other matters, during a December call, contradicting past statements by White House officials.

That's an interesting power dynamic. People all through the administration, including the VP, are concerned or upset, and Flynn feels not a hint of worry about it.

Anyone who thought anything would happen with Flynn hasn't been paying attention.

Re: The 45th POTUS - Donald J. Trump
A high ranking unnamed source, who spoke with the Dispatch on the condition of anonymity, has confirmed that President Trump has denied the request on grounds that California, and the city of Sacramento in particular, have failed to enforce federal immigration laws and have threatened to succeed from the Union. The source is quoted as saying:
“The President has no incentive in helping the state of California. The state harbors more illegal immigrants than any other state and has multiple sanctuary cities that violate federal laws. The state very publicly supported Hillary Clinton throughout the election and the President views the state as being responsible for his loss in the popular vote, something he has had trouble with accepting."

Also, great, so if your state voted primarily for Clinton, you are never getting help from the government.

Agreed. But it's also true that it's been 3 days since the request went out and still no word from the WH, so...ABNorman wrote:Something a tad dodgy about the Sacramento Dispatch...McParadigm wrote:A high ranking unnamed source, who spoke with the Dispatch on the condition of anonymity, has confirmed that President Trump has denied the request on grounds that California, and the city of Sacramento in particular, have failed to enforce federal immigration laws and have threatened to succeed from the Union.
