Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. David Gordon Green's best movie? Im not sure, but hell if this one is fucking good. Nicolas Cage is amazing here...absolutely amazing. The score is great, the photography is great...wow, what a somber, violent, quiet movie he did.

The cruelty between the couple I could live with, even though their relationship is clearly toxic and terrible. It's the cruelty they dish out to everyone around them, and the way the movie sets up a perspective in which this is is supposed to be funny and the people they abuse are made to look crazy, that I can't stomach. Ugh. What a despicable movie.
