"Self-realised and metaphysically redeemed" is basically harking back to the chorus of Amongst The Waves, which all the haters said was Christian rock music. Obviously it wasn't.

I was still liking Given to Fly by the time Yield dropped and I was listening to it 20x a day. With this I'm not so sure, but I like how much is packed into just 2 and a half minutes. Can anyone do one of those slowed down versions which makes it sound like Alice in Chains?stip wrote:most definitely (no song can sustain the amount of listening you'd normally be investing into an entire album, and it's not like this one was swinging for these fences to begin with) but a record should invigorate it.dimejinky99 wrote:All that may be true but we're all gonna be long tired of this before we any of us hear the record or hear it live.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

"And 'Lightning Bolt' isn't sounding like such a terrible title anymore given the artwork but also given what I'm thinking of is the style. The lightning bolt symbol is classically put on cars, leather jackets, and anything classically METAL AS FUCK, so if they deliberately wanted to go fun and stereotypical, it's OK that they did it this way. It's maybe not meant to be serious, it isn't, so it's fine. But also, given the fact that MYM is taking a shot at religious fundamentalism, it's possible that the 'Lightning Bolt' is referring to the act of God / divine intervention / miracle thing as well. Which would be another nice theme to bring in, if they do."
I totally agree!!!

Amonst the Waves
Backspacer would have been a nice EP:
GSMF
Fixer
Johnny Guitar
Supersonic
Speed of Sound
Force of Nature
Actually that doesnt look all that good. I suppose you'd have to throw on the two ed solo tracks!

I listened to this on repeat last night... but I fell asleep during the first play. My wife woke me up at some random time and told me to shut my fucking ipod off. She hates this song already.

You're gonna reject Amongst The Waves and then include Supersonic?Strat wrote:Amonst the Waves![]()
