It covers so many arcs though. It really is worth it.

Start with Season 1, Episode 9: Cloak of Darkness.

They introduce Ahsoka in the film, so you never get to meet her in the series anyway. Just know that Anakin has a Padawan. Her name is Ahsoka and she's amazing. You know her a bit from Rebels, yeah? So, just know she's already been introduced but you haven't missed anything necessary. The news-reel voice at the beginning (The Clone Wars' version of the crawl) will fill you in on what you need to know. Then just enjoy.

Asajj Ventress is introduced and she'll probably become one of your favorite characters.

The only two i even kinda liked I absolutely loved. The Pong Krell stuff in season 4, and the Fives stuff in season 6.
Pong Krell was very good, but it was a good example of the incoherence of the clone storylines when they were about what it means to be a clone. I like that that episode highlighted that clones shouldn't have their lives thrown away, but then in other episodes clones treat themselves as disposable, insofar as dying for the republic is what they are made for, their highest honor, something to celebrate (after Pong Krell you get that weird arc with the droids and the trooper with amnesia who recovers his memory in time to die heroically and feel great about it).
Isn't that true of humans, though? Especially soldiers? I guess I didn't find it incoherent as much as complex and varied. Do they 100% nail the execution of these ideas and themes every time? No. But it never felt incoherent to me.

There are some GREAT droids as you get going. The Separatist droids, the battle droids, are fucking stupid. I hate them in the prequels and this show does nothing to endear them to me at all. But as the show goes on you meet some outstanding individual droids that I really love.

It's tempting to jump around. And I admit, I did skip a few episodes in S5 because I was worried about the show expiring from Netflix before I could finish it. Doesn't look like that's the case now. I'll go back and pick up the ones I passed previously.

But, yeah, it's really rewarding to watch the entire thing.

AZ? I think was his name? Yeah, he was great. I also loved Huyang. What a fucking interesting character. I'd love to see more stories about him.

Finished season 5, man that was heavy

So overall, I think this is better than Rebels, and definitely better than the prequels. The bad shows get on my nerves and there are quite a few with 120 episodes to go through, but the good ones add value to the cannon we were given via the prequels. There's a lot more going on with this then what is seen in Rebels or the prequels, and honestly almost all of it is more interesting. I may have to buy this on blu ray so I can have on hand. I wouldn't mind doing a re-watch of the series.

Hoping to get through season 6 this week before it's off Netflix...
