That being said, they seem to have no desire to touch anything from their last European tour (which had some GREAT shows), so I'm guessing we're going to get Live and Loud (12/13/1993) as a live show - probably in both DVD and live disc form. While being a great show, it's also an atypical show with an odd, thrown-together setlist, so it doesn't really represent the era as well as some other shows do.

I honestly have no idea what to expect out of this other than to be disappointed again.
I sure hope it isn't the Live and Loud set but I suspect you may be right.

Well, there's a few songs that weren't broadcast. It will be nice to have all of the songs finally. It's not a super long setlist but it's good enough.

The reason Live & Loud is so obvious is because it's the only show from that era that was both filmed and multi-tracked, as with the Halloween '91 show.

Yeah, I'd be very happy to see a full release of the Live & Loud show.

Notes for PRO #1a: Multi camera PRO-shot video, with soundboard audio, broadcast by MTV. This source has higher video quality than PRO #1b. Missing 'Sliver', 'All Apologies', 'Blew', 'The Man Who Sold The World', 'School', 'Come As You Are', 'About A Girl', 'Endless Nameless' and some feedback at the end. Includes the decapitation of the In Utero angel during the jam. The broadcast mix omits the echoed 'said's during' Breed' chorus and has some fake crowd noise added between the songs. A 1st generation stereo tape has been transferred to DVD; see Live Nirvana's DVD Guide for more information.
It'd be nice to have a complete setlist but from memory this wasn't that great a show. It wasn't bad but it never really got about satisfactory. Perhaps the edits on my decades old bootleg haven't enhanced the experience but I remember hearing bootlegs of other better performances on In Utero shows (but no particular show names come to mind, I've have to check my stash). Surely there would have to be more American pro-shot full length shows available.

Nope. I think there's a few scattered songs here and there that were filmed for TV news spots and so forth, but Live & Loud is the only complete show from the tour that was both filmed and multi-track recorded. I think it's actually a fantastic performance, though it's admittedly been a couple of years since I heard it.

At least one of the Seattle shows from January 1994 at the end of the US leg was multi-track recorded, I'd love to see that get released (though chances are slim.) Audio only though, of course.

The Cow Palace show in 93 was also multi track recorded but audio only. That was a really, really good show from that era.

Agreed, that show is great (and noteworthy in that it's the last time they ever performed as a trio.)

The two Seattle shows at the end of the US leg were definitely multi-tracked by Andy Wallace. Both of those shows are excellent. I wouldn't be surprised if it appears in the audio-only portion of the deluxe, although it will probably be remixed by some hack if it is.

Jack Endino did a nice job on the Bleach deluxe edition live show from Portland and he seems to be the go to guy on these reissues so hopefully he also does any live show mixes in the package as well as the demos/outtakes.

It's certainly encouraging that Albini and Endino have been doing some work on this.

Do you have any other links or details of Albini's involvement?

No, I'm just going by that photo of he, Novoselic, Grohl and Smear hanging out recently.

I only said that because the live stuff on the "Nevermind" box was all remixed by some guy nobody's ever heard of and he did a lousy job. I wonder what they had against Wallace's original mixes.

If I showed up somewhere and said my name was Endino Albini and you guys didn't know that those were producer type people would you believe that Endino Albini was my real name. Like does it sound like a beleievable name for a human person. Honest answers only please.

I hope they include more of the crank calls they made with Steve.

Steve Albini, pretending to be Bowie/T. Rex producer Tony Visconti, in a prank call to Eddie Vedder: “Your voice really speaks to me, I can get you in a real band to do some recording.”

Didn't she lose her stake in Nirvana LLC when Frances Bean turned 18?
Oh, I have no idea. That sure would be swell, though.
