I don't think I've ever had a torta. I love chorizo, tho.LoathedVermin72 wrote:A bun is the least of all the conveyances of Mexican food.tragabigzanda wrote:WTF is wrong with you, those sound amazing.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Chorizo tortas. They weren't great. Tortas have no texture. It's like I'm eating mush. And I really don't care for chorizo's flavor. Why on earth does anybody eat these when they could be eating tacos or burritos or tostadas?

Beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes. I hate onions.
Burritos are God's food.

1 large can of Cento brand san marzano peeled tomatoes that I crush up with a potato masher and leave "rustic"
pour in to a large sauce pan
add 1/2 cup or bit more of red wine, I usually use chianti
finely chop fresh basil
finely chop fresh garlic, 4 or 5 cloves
add a lot of red chili flakes
simmer on low for 45 min to an hour or even longer..I also add fresh basil on top
