PhatJ, what you posted is a right-wing site's asessment of the NYT article, not the actual article. Many of the statements were "true", but only if you ignored context, and many were labeled "misleading" as well. The actual article does not paint a very rosy picture of the speech at all.

The link to the actual NY Times piece was in the article I posted, and I read that too. The issue with the "picture they painted" was that it was just that, a picture or perspective (as is the perspective of the article I posted). The NYT see it from one point of view and admittedly aren't swayed by the facts. Any way you want to slice it, Trumps speech was truthful. And by the way, both public and pundit response to the speech was overwhelming positive (something like a 68% favorability rating). Also, I'm not entirely a Trump supporter. I lean very libertarian, but I'm willing to give the man a chance. After all, he won the election. I do think the wailing and gnashing of teeth, and the protesting/rioting from the left is ridiculous.

None of that changes what Orpheus was saying; the Daily Caller took the reporting of the New York Times and mischaracterized much of what they said through their own ideological lens. The Daily Caller is fairly upfront about framing their reporting and aggregation with a particular ideological bent; it's kinda their thing.

Still, the NYT does not dispute the factual accuracy of Trump's speech. They just don't like his perspective. And this is why it is so dishonest of people to always just claim Trump is lying when he's not. They just don't like the way he picture frames the truth. That is a distinct difference.

It continues to amaze me how directive these leaks are. To sabotage Sessions and to message out that the Obama admin took steps to protect info ("hey, whoever replaces Sessions, FYI...") all in one swoop is a pretty determined effort towards a singular end.
